ABOUT
The most important communication does two things at once. It connects with people making them feel seen, understood, and moved. And it holds up to scrutiny-with evidence, logic, and intellectual credibility. These are not opposing forces. They are complementary. And bringing them together is what Moving Hearts and Minds exists to do.
After 17 years of TEDx curation, with over 150 speakers and organizations coached in multiple disciplines, thousands of students taught across three continents, lived experience leading national and international level projects and experience helping campaigns cut through the noise one pattern became unmistakable: brilliant people with important ideas doing important work, were struggling to be heard in an increasingly noisy world. Not because their ideas lacked merit, but because their communications lacked impact. In a world that has gotten noisier they could not break through. Some messages had emotional power but lacked structure. Others were rigorous but left audiences cold. In others the communication was not delivered strategically. Moving Hearts and Minds was created to solve that specific problem-to help leaders, experts, and organizations move the needle in the world by sending signal amidst the noise.
Rahim Sajan is one of the most experienced TEDx organizers in the world, he began his career as an educator teaching in classrooms, designing curriculum, and learning firsthand how people move from confusion to understanding. That foundation in how people learn has shaped everything that followed. His work expanded into speaker coaching, TEDx curation, knowledge translation, leadership communication, and learning design. He has coached more than 150 speakers, co-founded and curated TEDxCalgary, led the 2030 Alberta World Expo bid, advised leaders and organizations on high-stakes communication, and designed learning experiences that make complex knowledge accessible and actionable. He holds an M.Ed., B.Ed., and B.Sc. from the University of Calgary and has been recognized with the UCalgary Arch Award, as a Distinguished Alumni and Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40.

Everything at Moving Hearts and Minds is built on a deep understanding of how people learn and can be moved to action. Whether coaching a speaker, shaping an organizational narrative, or designing a learning programme, the same principles apply: start where people are, clarify what matters most, build understanding step by step, connect evidence with meaning, and prepare for real-world application using our earned expertise. This is not communication theory. It is applied learning science, battletested in multiple disciplines- corporations to government.
Rahim’s approach to speaker coaching combines an educator’s patience, a strategist’s clarity, and a curator’s ear for what matters. He does not impose a formula. He helps each speaker and organization find their authentic voice and shape it into communication that connects and convinces. His work with TEDxCalgary taught him that the best talks are not performances-they are generous acts of communication in which someone with genuine expertise takes the time to make that expertise accessible to others.

“I believe communication can be an act of generosity. When someone takes the time to make a complex idea clear, when a leader communicates with honesty and respect, when a speaker shares something that genuinely helps people think differently that is not just effective communication. It is a contribution to the people receiving it. My work is to help people make that contribution, in their own voice, with their own expertise, in the moments that matter most.”
